What is the purpose of WinForms TreeView Click event?

The way I see it, it functions exactly the same as NodeMouseClick and MouseClick events. All of them are fired when the we either click on the node itself, or if we click right of the nodes.

However if I click bellow the nodes, then no event is fired. One would assume that Click event (MouseClick also) should be raised if you click on any place within the control boundaries, but it seems it is not the case. My intention is to catch click event on the TreeView which occurred outside of the 'Nodes section'.

Is this a bug or there is some logical explanation for this that I am not aware of?

Thanks,

Goran
