(Win 7/Framework 4.0)
I have a requirement (to display mixed content (text and embedded files, inc. MS Office, PDF, PNG, TXT,...) in a WinForms control. The RichTextBox seemed to be ideal for this, and works exactly as the users would like, with image files, text files, but NOT for MS Office files or PDF files.
- dropping a .PNG or .TXT file in the RichTextBox displays the icon for the respective file type, and the text of the file name. These dropped files can be dragged out of the RichTextBox and dropped in Windows Explorer.
- dropping a DOCX, XLSX, PDF displays the icon for the file type, with the text of the document type, rather than name. These dropped files can NOT be dragged out of the RichTextBox and displayed in Windows Explorer.
How can I enable DOCX, PDF, etc. files embedded in a RichTextBox control to display the filename of the dropped file, and be dragged out of the RichTextBox and back to Explorer?
