I have had nothing but trouble trying to set this new computer up to accept doing backup.
I run the windows backup, as I've done on my new lap top. but this computer refused to identify the hard drives, that I choose.
I get this error, and it reads A shadow copy could no be created. Please check "VSS" and "SPP" application event logs for more information.
Details Insufficient storage available to create either the shadow copy storage file or other shadow copy data.
Even if I try the other almost empty hard drive instead of the external hard drive, I get Your last backup did not complete successfully.Your files have not been backed up. I even went as far as to do a complete recovery last night, hopping that it would correct the problems. I have also done all the recommended checks that windows provided, with the Gateway chat, and nothing changed. Now they tell me to contact you. I tried contacting windows and they sent me to Gateway because they installed Windows 7. For whatever reason this computer and its OS does not want to recognize the other two hard drives. I forget where we were checking, but it said that the Extra hard drive and the External drive we off.
So the people at Gateway said that I should try to do a complete recovery again and try to set up a back up image again, that I may have missed something during set up. But I ask, why did it fail in Aug when I first tried to do a back up, and after I made recovery discs. And why has it failed every time no matter what I do, either before and after I did the recovery. I just did a complete backup on my new laptop, and had not problems at all. It is now backed up. And I did not run back up on it sense I bought they both in Aug. I just had so much trouble with this computer. That I wanted to see if I had the same problem with that one as I have had with this one.
So now I am not sure what to do. Should I do a complete recovery? Should I do so using the Gateway program, or what? Do I in fact have a corrupted Windows 7 OS installed, and who should replace it, or fix the computer? I need help this has been an ongoing concern, and I have spent most of the past 30 hours trying to get it corrected again. One person sends me to windows, windows sends me to Gateway, Gateway sends me to you. I need help, not excuses, otherwise, I has a $1500 piece of junk setting here, that has something corrupted on it.
