Hello,
I'm somewhat confused about the way windows firewalls handles rules added by hand/script in inbound section of the advanced settings mmc. I've added some rules to block certain ip addresses on all ports and added them to apply to all 3 profiles Domain/Public/Private.
The thing that i'm confused about is that the rule's are also added as allowed programs and services in the allowed programs and ports list /control panel/windows firewall/allow a program ore . . . . . . How come? I want to block those ip's not allow them.
How should I read/interpert these rules... Does it mean that the block rules are "allowed to block" in profile private and public? Or are the block rules I added simply rendered useless because the are now in the allowed list thus they don't block any more. Should I only add the rules to profile domain although this machine is in a workgroup.
