I created a very simple .vbs app --- WScript.Echo "Hello World" on my windows 7 profession workstation. I double click the app (from Windows Explorer) and a messagebox appears on the screen that says "Hello World". I created the same exact .vbs app on my windows 7 professional laptop, but when I double click the app (on the Windows Explorer on my laptop) -- instead of executing the app -- windows just opens up Notepad and displays the script --- WSScript.Echo"Hello World".
I named the app test1.vbs. It executes normally on the workstation but does not execute on the laptop. I tried executing test1.vbs from the cmd line on the laptop -- and that also did not execute -- it only opened up Notepad and displayed the script.
Is there something missing or something wrong with the installation of windows 7 professional on my laptop? What can I do -- what should I do to fix this problem on my laptop?
Thanks
